PixelFlow vs Stape: An In-Depth Comparison (2026)

What’s new in this update: added attribution, customer journeys, consent-aware tracking, bot filtering, blocking rules and event payload logs to the comparison. Rebuilt the comparison table and re-checked both tools’ pricing and log retention on 11 September 2026.

If you are comparing PixelFlow and Stape for Meta Conversions API tracking, you are choosing between two ways of working. Stape hosts server-side Google Tag Manager, so you build the tracking yourself in GTM. PixelFlow is a no-code Pixel and Conversions API tool that sets the tracking up with one script, and reports on the results too.

“Is there a Stape alternative that handles Facebook CAPI without GTM Server-Side, and also shows which ads actually drove the sale?”

Yes, that is the gap PixelFlow fills. This guide compares both tools on setup, features, attribution, data quality, consent, integrations and price, including where Stape is the better choice. If you are still weighing up other tools, see our roundup of Stape alternatives.

The short answer

PixelFlow is usually the better choice if you advertise on Meta, run a site on Webflow, Framer, Squarespace, WordPress or a similar builder, and want accurate server-side tracking plus attribution without learning GTM.

Stape may be a better fit if you already work in GTM, send data to several ad platforms such as Google Ads, GA4, TikTok and Snapchat, and want full control over tags, triggers and custom logic.

PixelFlow vs Stape: Overview

Both tools send Meta events server-side. Stape gives you the infrastructure and leaves the configuration to you. PixelFlow handles the configuration and adds reporting on top.

What Stape is

Is PixelFlow Easier to Set Up Than Stape?

Yes, for most sites. PixelFlow is live in about 10 minutes without GTM. Stape can host a container just as quickly, but the tracking itself still has to be built in GTM, which takes longer if you are new to it.

PixelFlow setup

Setup typically takes 5 to 10 minutes:

  1. Add your site and connect your Meta pixel.

  2. Add one script, or install the Webflow, Framer, WordPress or WooCommerce plugin.

  3. Track the events that matter with the Visual Tagger, or fire them on page load with a URL trigger.

  4. Watch each event arrive in the event log.

No GTM, no server container and no manual event mapping. On Growth and Agency plans, the PixelFlow team can set it up for you.

Stape setup

Stape’s Setup Wizard creates and hosts the server container. From there you build the tracking in GTM:

  • Create a server-side container and connect it to your web container

  • Configure the clients, tags and triggers for each platform

  • Pass event IDs and user data from the browser to the server

  • Test in GTM preview, then maintain the setup as your site changes

For teams who already know GTM this is routine. For solo founders and marketers it is a real learning curve.

This is the setup process for PixelFlow:

Features and Capabilities

Stape gives you building blocks for any tracking setup. PixelFlow gives you a finished Meta tracking setup, including the features most advertisers end up building by hand.

PixelFlow features

Stape features

  • Server-side GTM hosting with a global CDN, plus multi-zone infrastructure on Business plans

  • Gateways for Meta Conversions API, Google, TikTok and Snapchat

  • Power-ups including Custom Loader, Cookie Keeper, Bot Detection and Anonymizer

  • Custom events and conditional logic through GTM

  • Request logs, and monitoring on Business plans

  • Stape Analytics, showing requests recovered from ad blockers and tracking prevention

If you want to build something custom across several platforms, Stape is the stronger toolkit.

Attribution and Customer Journeys

PixelFlow shows which sources, campaigns and ads drove each sale, using the same events it sends to Meta. Stape improves the data your analytics and ad platforms receive, but it does not include an attribution report of its own.

Attribution in PixelFlow

The attribution table lists every traffic source, such as Facebook, Google, organic search, direct, YouTube and AI tools, with visitors, sessions, leads, purchases, revenue and revenue per session. Sources break down into campaigns and ads using UTM parameters and click IDs, so you can check Ads Manager’s numbers against what actually happened on your site.

Customer journeys in PixelFlow

Open any purchase or lead to see the journey behind it: the ad they clicked first, every page they viewed, the days between visits and the event that converted them. Cross domain cookies keep one journey intact when checkout runs on a different domain.

PixelFlow’s attribution covers traffic to sites running its script. It does not reconcile ad spend across channels the way a dedicated multi-channel attribution platform does.

How this works with Stape

Stape focuses on getting complete data to other tools. Cookie Keeper and same-origin tracking make attribution in GA4 and the ad platforms more accurate, and Stape Analytics shows how many requests server-side tracking recovered. To see which source drove a specific customer, you would use GA4 or another analytics tool alongside Stape.

PixelFlow vs Stape: Technical Differences

Both tools send events through the Meta Conversions API. The differences are in how events are triggered, how user data is attached and how much you configure by hand.

Server-side delivery and script loading

Both PixelFlow and Stape send events to Meta from a server. Stape can load its script from your own domain with the Custom Loader power-up, which helps against ad blockers and extends cookie life. PixelFlow does not offer a custom tracking domain yet.

PixelFlow loads the Meta Pixel and the Conversions API together, so every event goes out both ways with no extra setup. Here is how the Pixel and the Conversions API differ.

Event types

PixelFlow supports every standard Meta event, such as Purchase, Lead, Schedule and CompleteRegistration. It does not support custom, non-standard events yet. Stape supports standard and custom events, with any conditional logic you can build in GTM.

Event triggers

PixelFlow fires events in four ways:

  • Visual Tagger clicks and form submits

  • URL triggers on page load

  • Stripe and Calendly webhooks for conversions that happen off your site

  • Automatic eCommerce events on WooCommerce, Squarespace and Webflow

Developers can also send events with the programmatic API.

Stape supports any trigger GTM does, including scroll depth and custom logic. That is more flexible, and more to set up and maintain.

User data and match quality

PixelFlow adds fbp, fbc (kept for 90 days), IP address, user agent, a hashed location and an anonymous external_id to every event automatically. Email, phone and name can be captured from tagged forms, or mapped from URL parameters such as a Calendly redirect, to raise Event Match Quality. Here is how Meta scores event match quality.

With Stape you map user data yourself through the dataLayer, and you can pass CRM identifiers as external_id. Meta also explains the score in its Business Help Center.

Deduplication

Stape needs the same event_id passed from the browser pixel to the server tag, through the dataLayer, cookies or request headers. PixelFlow generates one event ID for both copies of every event, so Meta counts each conversion once with nothing to configure. Read more on how deduplication works. Meta’s deduplication documentation confirms it matches the two copies by event ID and event name.

Data Accuracy and Reliability

Either tool recovers events a browser pixel misses. The differences are what stays in your data after that, and how easy it is to check.

Bot filtering

PixelFlow recognises crawlers, scrapers and other automated traffic and drops those events before anything reaches Meta, with nothing to configure. Stape’s Bot Detection power-up, on Pro plans and up, scores each request from 0 to 100. It can block bot requests to GA4 and the Data Tag, and for Meta CAPI you add a bot-score condition to the tag yourself.

Blocking rules

PixelFlow blocking rules stop events that should not count. Block a repeat of the same event within a set time, block it when the Meta click ID is missing, or block on the same URL or referrer, and combine conditions with AND and OR. A refreshed thank-you page stays one purchase. In Stape, the same outcome comes from trigger conditions and custom logic in GTM.

Event logs and payloads

PixelFlow’s event log shows every event as it arrives, whether Meta accepted it, and the full payload of data sent with it. Payloads are kept for 30 days and event records for 6 months. Stape’s logs show requests in and out of your container, kept for 3 days on Pro and 10 days on Business, with log export on Enterprise.

Reliability in practice

Stape is very reliable once it is configured correctly, but its accuracy depends on how well the GTM setup is built and maintained. PixelFlow has fewer moving parts to misconfigure, which suits teams without a tracking specialist. Here is why a browser pixel alone misses conversions.

PixelFlow follows your visitors’ cookie choices automatically. With Stape, consent is something you configure in GTM alongside your cookie banner.

PixelFlow: consent-aware by default

PixelFlow reads the choice from the cookie banner you already use, including CookieYes, Cookiebot, Complianz, OneTrust and banners that support Google Consent Mode v2. Tracking runs when a visitor accepts and stays off when they decline.

  • Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track are honoured, even over an Accept click

  • While a banner is unanswered, the visitor’s location decides whether PixelFlow waits for consent or tracks until they decline

  • Custom banners connect with one line of code

  • Consent mode is on by default for every site

PixelFlow helps you respect your visitors’ choices, but making sure your site complies with the law is still your responsibility. How consent-aware tracking works.

Stape: consent through GTM

In a Stape setup, your cookie banner passes consent to your web GTM container through Consent Mode v2, and the server container uses those signals to decide what reaches Meta, Google and other platforms.

Stape publishes setup guides and a Consent Parser variable, but you configure and test the rules in GTM. Google’s consent mode overview explains the signals involved.

Integrations and Compatibility

Stape connects to more ad platforms. PixelFlow goes deeper on Meta and on the website builders its users run.

PixelFlow integrations

  • Meta Pixel and Conversions API for Facebook and Instagram ads

  • Webflow, Framer, Squarespace, WordPress, WooCommerce, Kajabi, ClickFunnels and custom sites

  • Stripe and Calendly for server-side conversions

  • Programmatic API for developers

PixelFlow sends to Meta only. If you also need server-side Google Ads or TikTok tracking, you will need another tool alongside it. See all integrations.

Stape integrations

  • Meta, Google Ads, GA4, TikTok, Snapchat and many more through GTM tags

  • Dedicated gateways for Meta, Google, TikTok and Snapchat

  • Apps and plugins for Shopify, WordPress and other platforms

That breadth suits agencies managing mixed ad stacks, and is often more than a single Meta-focused site needs.

PixelFlow vs Stape Pricing

PixelFlow charges a flat price per site with unlimited events. Stape starts cheaper, including a free tier, and its price rises with request volume.

PixelFlow pricing

  • Standard: $29/mo, or $21/mo billed annually, 1 site

  • Growth: $58/mo billed annually, 5 sites, up to 5 team members, done for you setup

  • Agency: $107/mo billed annually, 10 sites, up to 20 team members, client workspaces

  • Extra sites $10/mo each, unlimited events on every plan, 7-day free trial

See full pricing.

Stape pricing

  • Free: up to 10K requests

  • Pro: $17/mo billed annually, up to 500K requests

  • Business: $83/mo billed annually, up to 5M requests

  • Enterprise: $167/mo billed annually, up to 20M requests

Stape bills by requests to your server container, which are not the same as events, so busy sites move up tiers. Factor in the time to build and maintain the GTM setup as well.

For a single Meta-focused site, the bigger cost difference is usually who builds and maintains the tracking, not the subscription.

PixelFlow vs Stape: Which Should You Choose?

There is no universal winner. The choice comes down to whether you want to build your tracking or have it built for you.

Choose PixelFlow if

  • Meta is your main ad platform

  • You do not want to learn or maintain GTM

  • You want attribution and customer journeys without a separate tool

  • You run Webflow, Framer, Squarespace, WordPress or a similar builder

  • You want consent, bot filtering and deduplication handled automatically

Choose Stape if

  • You already work in server-side GTM

  • You send data to Google Ads, GA4, TikTok or Snapchat as well as Meta

  • You need custom events or complex conditional logic

  • You want tracking on your own domain today

  • You have the technical resources to build and maintain it

Final verdict

Stape is a flexible platform for teams who build their own tracking. PixelFlow is a focused Meta tracking and attribution tool for founders, marketers and agencies who would rather not. If better Meta data with less technical work is the goal, PixelFlow is usually the better choice.

PixelFlow vs Stape FAQs

Is PixelFlow a good alternative to Stape?

For Meta advertisers on site builders such as Webflow, Framer, Squarespace and WordPress, usually yes. PixelFlow sends Pixel and Conversions API events together, handles deduplication, bot filtering and consent for you, and adds attribution and customer journeys on top. If you also need server-side tracking for Google Ads, GA4 or TikTok, or rely on custom GTM logic, Stape remains the better fit.

Do I need Google Tag Manager to use PixelFlow?

No. PixelFlow runs from one script or a platform plugin, and you set up events with the Visual Tagger or URL triggers in the PixelFlow dashboard. Stape is built around server-side GTM, so with Stape you configure clients, tags and triggers in Google Tag Manager yourself.

Can I run PixelFlow and Stape at the same time while switching?

Yes, but avoid sending the same conversions to the same Meta pixel from both. Each tool generates its own event IDs, so Meta cannot deduplicate one tool’s events against the other’s and may count a sale twice. Test PixelFlow on a separate pixel first, or turn off the Meta tag in your Stape container when PixelFlow goes live on your main pixel.

Which is cheaper, PixelFlow or Stape?

Stape is cheaper to start: it has a free plan for up to 10,000 requests a month, and paid hosting from $17/mo billed annually. PixelFlow costs $29/mo, or $21/mo billed annually, per site with unlimited events. Stape’s price rises with request volume, and building and maintaining a GTM setup takes time, so compare both at your own traffic level. Prices checked on 11 September 2026.

Does Stape show attribution like PixelFlow?

Not built in. Stape improves the data that GA4 and ad platforms receive, and Stape Analytics reports how many requests server-side tracking recovered, but there is no report showing which source or ad drove a specific customer. PixelFlow includes an attribution table by source, campaign and ad, plus a journey for every purchase or lead.

Is PixelFlow or Stape better for GDPR and cookie consent?

Both can respect consent, in different ways. PixelFlow reads the choice from your existing cookie banner, honours Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track, and has consent mode on by default for every site. With Stape, you set up consent through Google Consent Mode and your cookie banner in GTM. With either tool, making sure your site complies with the law is still your responsibility.

Can PixelFlow send events to Google Ads or TikTok like Stape?

No. PixelFlow sends events to Meta only, for Facebook and Instagram ads. If you need server-side events for Google Ads, GA4, TikTok or Snapchat as well, Stape or another multi-platform tool covers that, and PixelFlow can still handle Meta alongside it.
